A short list of grounds we have finished recently. Full drawing sets stay in the studio; these notes are for walking the sites.

East Quay salt marsh
Four hectares between the container yard and the old town. The seawall was lowered in three places so the marsh could return. A timber walk floods on the spring tide; that is the design, not a defect. Commissioned by the Port Meridian harbour board.

North Court walled garden
The municipal greenhouse yard in St. Brigid, turned back into a garden that supplies the library café. Brick repaired rather than replaced. Fruit on the south wall; a shade line on the north for the after-school programmes.

Kingsgate school yard
Asphalt reduced by half. Trees in structural soil, not in decorative planters. A low brick seat wall that doubled as a flood edge the first winter. The children named the oaks; we did not.

Harbour cemetery extension
A quiet enlargement of the old burial ground, using native meadow rather than mown lawn. Paths follow the existing desire lines. Headstones face the water, as the older ones already did.
